Karuna Gehani operates the Events Phare mobile application. This page explains our policies on collecting, using, and disclosing personal data when you use our Service. It also outlines the choices you have regarding your data.

Information Collection and Use

We collect different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service for you.

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide certain personally identifiable information that can contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Full Name: Collected during registration and joining events.
  • Email Address: Used for account authentication via Firebase Auth and event communication.
  • Phone Number: Collected when joining an event to allow organizers to contact you about logistics.
  • Profile Bio: Optional information you can provide in your profile.

Location Data

Events Phare does not access your device’s precise location information. Instead, users are required to manually select your city within the application in order to view and create relevant events for that location. The selected city is used solely for filtering and displaying nearby events. No GPS is used in this application for location tracking.

Use of Data

Events Phare uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To provide and maintain our Service.
  • To inform you about changes to our Service.
  • To let you participate in interactive features (creating, joining, and bookmarking events).
  • To provide customer support.
  • To gather information that helps us improve our Service.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data.

Your privacy is our priority. We never sell data to advertisers.

However, your data may be shared in specific operational cases:

  • Event Organizers: When you "Join" or "Register" for an event, your Name, Email, and Phone Number are shared with the Event Organizer for attendance management and communication.
  • Service Providers: We use Google Firebase services provided by Google LLC for authentication, cloud database hosting (Firestore), and infrastructure support. These services may process personal data only to provide functionality for the Events Phare application.

Third-Party Service Providers

We use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. We only share data with them as necessary for them to perform their services.

  • Google Play Services

    Used for app functionality, distribution, and Location Services (if permission granted).

  • Firebase (Google)

    Used for analytics, database hosting (Firestore), and authentication. Data is processed according to Google's Privacy Policy.

  • CountriesNow API (Retrofit)

    Used to fetch lists of cities for event creation. No personal data is sent to this API; we only request static city lists.

Data Storage and Deletion

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase Firestore.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time through the "Profile" section of the app. Deleting your account will permanently remove your user profile and mark your created events as removed.

Data Retention

We will keep your Personal Data only as long as needed for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. If you delete your account, your personal profile data is removed immediately. Event records you created will be marked as deleted and will not be accessible to other users.

Security of Data

The security of your data is important to us. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your Personal Data with commercially acceptable methods, we cannot guarantee complete security.

Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for anyone under age 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and know that your child has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
